It was an enthusiastic eve on the International Women’s Day at Gurugram, India where women from all age groups, all walks of life and from all cross the city gathered and participated in an array of interesting activities and discussions on Individual Distinctiveness, Health and other Women related issues. The event was exquisitely organized by Ambika Arya and Shimali Agarwal under the aegis of WomenID’s Gurugram-North Chapter.
International Women’s Day is marked by celebrating all aspects of a woman’s life. From being a housewife and taking care of her family, to working as a professional outside home, the day aims to praise everything a woman does for her loved ones and for the society. This initiative of celebrating women hood took place with the active support and association of women from the Indiabulls Centrum Park that witnessed participation of women from all across the city. The celebrations were organized around the central belief that women can perform all the responsibilities only if they are physically fit, & both mentally and emotionally strong.
So keeping that in mind a Health walk session was organized where some of the senior Doctors shared their views and elaborated importance of a healthy body and a positive mind. To add to the excitement, some fun exercises and yoga was also organized during walk session.
The celebrations concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony with a cake aesthetically designed by city’s well known baker Ms Rimmi, known for her delicious preparations adapted on themes.
Radhika Chandel was the Guest of honor who also shared her views on how Women coped so well during Covid lockdown striking balance with Home and Work together.
Some fun filled games which everyone enjoyed were especially designed for the occasion by Sarabhjot, Shimali, Neetu and glimpses were well captured for Women ID members by Shailendra Rahul and Anshul Rahul.
Ambika Arya who curated the whole event stated, Event came as a breather during tough Covid times and has rejuvenated our energy. In coming days as soon as all the Covid restrictions are lifted, more of such events will see the light of the day, a lot of panel discussions and seminars are lined up for Gurgaon and NCR chapter of Women ID.
She also urged the women to follow the #ChoosetoChallenge theme of International Women’s Day 2021, as challenge is such an integral part of everyday lives for Indian women and if we choose to challenge our capabilities further. This will not only lead to fulfillment of our dreams but also help us carve distinct Identity that we look for ourselves.
